Called today (Wednesday ) and asked to see the doctor for a blocked ear (the swimming did bad and gave me trouble ) but was told that they were fully booked until Wednesday next week. She asked me to call back at 2pm to ask for an emergency appointment!!! but I wasn't sure that this was an emergency and felt confused. I think that the emregency appointment rote does not apply to many people as no one can assess themselves for sure and therefore this is a waste of resources on the NHS. Next I asked how many doctors are available (out of three) and the reply was one doctor only! hence it become clear why the long waiting times. This is already having a bad impact on my health.
The GP Surgery is good if you get an appointment with the right doctor. I always had a great help from all the GPs there EXCEPT Dr Girish Kumar. Try to avoid him if the reception suggests the appointment only with him! I came to seek for help with the signs of possible postnatal depression and very suicidal thoughts that might become even stronger from epilepsy drugs that I am taking. However I received no help at all and had to leave the room in tears. I asked for the referral to psychologist and been told to go to A&E and speak with psychologist there.
