Great local pub in a lovely urban setting opposite a small green. The traditional unspolit 2 roomed pub is light and airy with nice etched windows. Great beer selection, nice warming roaring fires and friendly locals. Nice place for a break on my walk.
This is proper pub, just how they all used to be before most went 'gastro'! It's just an honest place to enjoy a good beer in a friendly atmosphere.....does that mean it's the preserve of the old folks? No, not at all....a range of ages was evident when we visited, and you could walk in and order a beer without having to shout....oh joy! Friendly crowd when we visited.....and a real fire in the fireplace.... what more could you want!
